I built this car this year as a car to use on the occasional weekend and take to shows, nothing has been shortcut or missed out and I wish that I could keep it! The 500kms that I have driven the car has been perfect.
BODY: The body is painted in 2pac charcoal with maximum size and content of metallic flakes. It has been completely de-badged and boot lock erased for a smoother look, except for the horse on the grille and the mustang fuel cap. The body was in the best and original condition that I have ever seen on a car of this age, no dings, rust or warped panels. The car originally had 89,000 Miles on it. The floor pan is original and didn’t have any rust at all, or any signs of previous rust. The firewall has been smoothed and flattened. The entire bonnet is steel, and is a one-off unit that took many hours to create. Front windscreen is new and laminated, all rubbers are new, car has remote central locking.
MOTOR: 302 boss motor (Windsor bottom end with Cleveland heads - was built for the car last year, and includes flat top pistons, Waggott cam, Yella Terra adjustable roller rockers, Manly pushrods, Pro Boss intake manifold, 600 double pumper Holley, billet electronic ignition, Gilmore belt drive, and new starter motor, alternator, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump. The radiator is a big thick fabricated aluminum one, and is cooled with a thermo fan.
DRIVELINE: brand new T5 5 speed gearbox with new clutch, master and slave cylinders, and custom driveshaft. 8.5” diff with 2.78:1 gear ratio.
EXHAUST: full custom 3 piece extractors into a twin 3” stainless steel exhaust, flow-through mufflers and dumpers.
STEERING: right hand drive conversion, using ford falcon parts. The steering is non power steering on purpose, because the power steering versions a too light and ‘feeling for the road’ is lost. The non power steering works very well and is not a problem at all in car parking situations.
BRAKES: boosted master cylinder with brand new disk brake front end conversion and drum brake rear end. The car pulls up very quickly – and needs too!
SUSPENSION: reset ride height front and back with Koni shocks and sway bars front and back.
INTERIOR: completely new interior, all seats recovered in velour, and the dash has been modified for a smooth dash pad, full autometer phantom gauges, with an electronic adjustable speedometer. Top of the range alpine CD player and 6X9” speakers. Hand brake moved to the floor.
WHEELS: 17” X 8” Malibu’s with 235s on the back and 225s on the front.
