Replacing the HT series, The HG was introdused in 1970 with a production run of only oneyear. A minor facelift was undertaken with the introduction of new grilles, colours and trim designs. Belemont, Kingswood,Premier and Brougham model lines were retained as well as the desirable Monaro GTS.The HG series also featured an export program to South Africa with models rebranded as Chevrolet Kommando and El Camino.
