The VK Charger series followed the legacy left by not only the VJ, by the infamous Bathurst bred VH Valiant Charger. The VK signalled the removal of ‘Valiant’ from the model name, marketed simply as the ‘Chrysler Charger’. The Chrysler Charger was then offered in two variants, the XL and 770.
This particular example is a beautifully presented factory 360ci V8, ‘E57’ Charger, sitting on a set of ‘W35’ style jellybean alloy wheels. The current owner purchased this VK Charger as a painted unfinished project, and has since meticulously reassembled it. The current owner has also detailed that it was painted in the 90s, with the colour being inspired from the factory tagged colour but with the additional of metallic. All bright work presents well with factory badging evident across the exterior.
The interior has been retrimmed to match the factory specification and presents beautifully. The well-kept interior also features a Retro Sound stereo with Bluetooth capabilities, while retaining the original look. An electric aerial has also been installed too.
The 360ci motor in this VK Charger is not a matching numbers unit, however the original owner has been told that it was installed as a ‘Valiant Warranty Engine’ as some point in it’s life. It retains an automatic transmission and standard differential. The current owner has also had new brakes and an exhaust installed too.
